Cross Layer Protocol Implementation on Mobile Devices Exploiting Different packet types

Abstract

This report looks at the possibility of implementing an adaptive header compression scheme over the Internet protocol, utilizing a Bluetooth link, to be used for transmitting video data between mobile devices.

It investigates the Bluetooth interface for delay and throughput and this is done carrying out different test scenarios. To aid in executing these measurements, a test application has been developed. In addition it investigates what the Symbian platform can offer for implementing video streaming over Bluetooth.
