Course overview:

This course gives an introduction into the programming of applications for smartphones. The intention of this course is to provide students with information to make their own application for mobile phones. Main focus is on applications with network support.

So far Symbian OS, Windows Mobile and Maemo are taken under consideration as development platforms.

Python for S60, Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) and Symbian C++ are the programming languages chosen for applications' development during the course.

The course can be held at different levels offering basic and enhanced knowledge, thus both beginners and experts will gain something by taking this course.

A workshop will conclude the course where experts from the leading mobile phones' manufacturers will be invited to meet the students. This will be useful for discuss both technical issues and job opportunities. 

All lectures are accompanied by exercises, so that all participants are able to build their own applications.
