This lecture introduces the changes in the wireless network architecture changing from strict centralized systems to distributed once. The trend in the fixed network using cooperation (see BitTorrent and others) has also some potential for the wireless world. Cooperative strategies have the potential to solve state of the art problems such as energy consumption on the mobile device, restricted data rates and service costs.
